About this Role
Burton Bradstock Primary School is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team in a combined role comprising 25 hours as a Teaching Assistant and 5 hours as a Midday Supervisor. Please note that these position details will be split across two separate contracts.
Hours: Teaching Assistant - 25 hours per week, working 39 weeks per year, this includes 5 Inset Days & Midday Supervisor - 5 hours per week, working 38 weeks per year.
Salary Information
Teaching Assistant: Grade 5, SCP 5-6 (£15,360 – £15,604 per annum)
Midday Supervisor: Grade 1, SCP 3 (£2,901 per annum)
Contract: Fixed-term (2 November 2026 – 31 August 2027) linked to specific work which is funded for a fixed term only.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - Teaching Assistant hours 8.45am-12.00pm & 1.30-3.15pm. Midday Supervisor hours 12.00-1.00pm (which may be subject to change according to business need).

Teaching Assistant
This post involves supporting teaching and learning across the school and will include working with children with an Education Health and Care Plan and those on the SEND register. Essential qualities include discretion, empathy, professionalism, and good personal organisation with great communication skills and a desire to see young people achieve their potential. The right candidate would also demonstrate adaptability and resilience. Understanding of learning difficulties, knowledge of subject areas, and experience of working with young people in an educational setting will be advantageous.
Midday Supervisor
We are looking for someone to help create a safe, happy, and engaging lunchtime environment. You will need to be a good timekeeper, caring and confident when dealing with pupils, a good communicator, a calm organiser and be able to work well in a team.
