This job is for 35 hours per week and 39 weeks per year.

Burton Bradstock Primary School is looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, personable and highly organised Admin Officer to ensure the smooth running of our day to day operations and a dedicated member of staff to join our hard working lunchtime team as a Midday Supervisor.
Approx start date: 1 September 2026 start (with the possibility of some handover in July)
Closing date: 10 June 2026 - We encourage early applications as we may interview and appoint before the closing date if a suitable candidate is found.
Interview Date: week commencing 15 June 2026
Working pattern - Monday to Friday -8.30 am - 4.00 pm- this includes a 30 minute rest break. 30 hours Admin Officer (39 working weeks) and 5 hours Lunchtime Assistant (38 working weeks)= 35 weekly hours. Which may be subject to change according to business need..
You will also act as the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders so will be an ambassador for the school and embody the value, vision and ethos of the school in all interactions. Previous experience of working in a school office environment is advantageous.
As a vital member of our school community, your day will be varied and rewarding. In addition to your substantive administrative duties, this post includes a daily one-hour lunchtime supervision duty.
This component of the role is essential to the smooth running of our school day and is contracted as an addition to the main administrative post. The lunchtime duty is paid at Grade 3 and ensures a seamless transition for our students between the classroom and the playground.
Admin Officer role.
We are looking for someone who:
Is well presented and articulate, with good communication skills;
Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents
Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative;
Has a positive and flexible attitude;
Has experience of working in a school office / office environment and/or has the skills to run the office of a primary school (advantageous);
Has strong ICT skills, including fast and accurate keyboard skills.
Midday Supervisor role.
We are looking for someone who will:
supervise the children in the dining areas, playground, classrooms or other parts of the school premises
ensure children are safe and secure
encourage pupils to eat in a socially acceptable manner and to behave sensibly and quietly in the dining area
be a role model, promoting good conduct and behaviour, and deal with any problems arising from unruly behaviour or other breaches of the schools’ rules, reporting serious issues to senior members of staff
assist with associated duties e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean, packing tables away, etc
provide welfare support to the pupils
make lunchtimes a happy and fun period
to support the aims, values and policies of the school and participate in a team approach to all aspects of school life
to attend and contribute to regular staff meetings and in service training, and identify areas of personal practice and experience to develop
to be aware of safeguarding and confidential issues linked to home/child/teacher/school work and to keep confidences appropriately
undertake First Aid Training
