The Sir John Colfox Academy is looking for a Head of Geography Department to join our fantastic team. Could this be you?
Actual Salary £32,916 - £51,048 per annum (M1 to UP3)
In addition a TLR 2.1 is offered for Head of Geography.

Head of Geography
Required from September 2026, a well-qualified and successful classroom practitioner to lead the Geography department at The Sir John Colfox Academy. This would suit an experienced teacher looking to make their first step into leadership, or someone with existing leadership responsibilities who is looking to relocate or broaden their experience in another school.
The department follows the AQA specification at GCSE and A-Level and has a well-sequenced curriculum at KS3. Historically the uptake of Geography has been popular at all levels.

About the role
We are looking for a colleague who can:
Convey a passion for Geography, including its contemporary relevance in an ever-changing world.
Further develop the curriculum and associated resources to support all students to make excellent progress in Geography.
Adapt teaching so that all students are supported and challenged at an appropriate level.
Build excellent relationships with pupils and colleagues in order to work collaboratively and lead a small team of staff.
Contribute to the wider provision of curricular and extra-curricular activities within the Geography department such as local fieldwork and trips.
