Initio Learning Trust is seeking a dedicated and proactive People Officer to join our central People Team. This pivotal role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a comprehensive HR service, ensuring compliance and best practice delivery to support assigned schools / departments across our Trust. What you’ll be doing:
As a key member of our central shared service People team, the People Officer role will work closely with the wider People Team, People Business Partners, School Headteachers and Office Managers. This is a hybrid role, working across multiple sites in Dorset with occasional home working, and therefore requires the ability to travel independently. You will be instrumental in:
Developing and maintaining a good understanding of assigned schools/departments, in order to provide proactive support with various aspects of HR administration, expert HR advice and guidance.
Deliver efficient and best practice HR administration and processes for assigned schools/departments in line with Initio Standards.
Deliver proactive solutions-focussed HR advice across a range of people matters.
Champion a shift from traditional HR practices to modern, outcome focused approaches.
Collaborate with the wider People team to enhance the employee experience and embed inclusive, future ready policies and practises for an exceptional people experience.
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a professional and confident individual with excellent communication skills and an exceptional eye for detail. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to prioritise effectively and work well under pressure. Strong organisational and administrative skills are essential.
In addition, you will be someone who:
Can multitask efficiently across a range of HR areas.
Takes a systematic and process-driven approach to their work.
Can demonstrate excellent record-keeping skills.
Is ready to progress and enhance their career in Human Resources within a large multi-academy Trust.
Salary: £28,725.36 - £32,579.20 per annum (FTE £31,067 - £35,235 per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours per week: 37 hours
Working Weeks: 41 weeks, full-time, term-time + 2 weeks
Approximate Start Date: September 2025
