In addition a TLR 2.1 is offered for Head of Music.

This job is Full Time  for 1265 annual hours. 

It is offered on a Permanent basis .

The Sir John Colfox Academy, a high-achieving school on the stunning Jurassic Coast in Dorset, is seeking a passionate and driven Head of Music to lead our thriving music department and collaborate closely with our Leader of Drama and Performing Arts.

Your Role

As Head of Music, you will:

  • Lead and develop the music curriculum and extracurricular music across all key stages

  • Champion musical opportunities for all students, regardless of background or ability

  • Work closely with the Leader of Drama and Performing Arts to deliver outstanding whole-school productions and performance events

  • Inspire a team of staff and peripatetic teachers with a clear vision for musical excellence

  • Implement effective therapeutic strategies to support this
