Hillside First School is looking for an Administration Officer to join our fantastic team. Could this be you?

Actual Salary £12,967 - £13,172 per annum per annum (Grade 5)

This job is Part Time - Term Time Only for 22.5 hours per week and 39 weeks per year.

It is offered on a Temporary basis until 31 August 2025.

Approximate start date 01-May-2025.

Ideally, we would like to appoint someone who;

  • Has previous experience of working in an office environment, preferably within a school setting
  • Has a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Is proficient organisational and communication skills
  • Has the ability to handle confidential information and work under pressure and to changing deadlines
  • Is familiar with Arbor or similar data management systems (desirable).

This role will involve working 8.30am - 1pm Monday to Friday, term time only plus inset days.

The successful candidate will be required to;

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Headteacher and senior leadership.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and manage both electronic and paper filing systems in line with GDPR and Trust requirements.

  • Act as the school receptionist, handling routine queries and referring complex matters appropriately.

  • Administer pupil admissions, attendance records, and support recruitment processes, including DBS checks.

  • Manage communications with parents using our specialised systems.

  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and support first aid administration, ensuring the first aid room is well stocked.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and work closely with the Trust central team to follow established administrative processes.
